As I thought about what I might write today about New Year Resolutions, I did a little web research to see what type of information is out there on the subject. During the course of my web browsing, I found this anonymous quote:
“A New Year’s resolution is something that goes in one Year and out the other.”
And it really hit home. In the past, I did make resolutions each year and often they were unrealistic, as if just making the resolution would magically produce the results I sought. You mean I actually have to work at it to make it happen? I’ve got too much going on for that! As Anais Nin said, “I made no resolutions for the New Year. The habit of making plans, of criticizing, sanctioning and molding my life, is too much of a daily event for me.”
Seriously. I make resolutions every Friday for my weekend chores and errands! And I don’t always accomplish those as it is! So I don’t think New Year Resolutions are for me. What do you think? Do you make resolutions every year?
