Continuing The Dream

Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday was on Friday, he would have been 81 years old. Forty-two years ago a man we knew as a husband, a father, Nobel Peace Prize winner, founder of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, spokesman for the civil rights movement and writer one of the most infamous speeches of all time, was assassinated.  His life may have ended abruptly, but his legacy will continue to live on.  While our country has come far since his death, there is still so much work to do. I always wonder how much history would have changed if he were still with us today. There are few words that do Dr. King justice…so we should let his memory speak for itself.
