Today is Tax Day. Depressing, I know, but it’s here to stay. Every year, with few exceptions since 1955, we’ve had to pay our taxes on April 15. But there is a dim light at the end of the tunnel. According to the Tax Foundation, more of us are getting refunds than ever before–from credits, deductions or increased withholdings. In fact, there has been a 59% increase in “non-payers” since 2000.
If you’re not one of those lucky ones, I’ll just introduce you to the new (and unofficial, of course) IRS tagline: “We’ve got what it takes to take what you’ve got.”
And remember, America is the land of opportunity—everybody can become a taxpayer!
Happy Tax Day!
