Today is Veteran’s Day. That means it’s time for my annual trip to the local VA Hospital to talk to the veterans who devoted their lives to defending our country and our way of life. There is so much to be learned from our veterans, especially those who have such colorful stories to tell.
Most of the veterans I talk to at the VA have been around for a long time. Many of them will never be able to go back home. But they have such living to pass on to those who will take the time to listen. While my visits leave me somewhat sad, they also give me hope and a commitment to never forget the lessons I can learn there.
Today is Veteran’s Day. If you served, be proud. And thank you. Here’s my hug to you.
